Facing fertility issues in 2010, author Leni Zumas began researching in vitro fertilization (IVF). During the course of that research, she discovered something called "The Personhood Movement," a movement by some anti-abortion rights advocates to give personhood rights to the unborn.

Leni's research lead her to imagine the United States if such an amendment was passed. Her new novel, Red Clocks is set in that world, and tells the story of five women grappling with the new laws, motherhood and what it means to be a woman.

Today, Leni Zumas joins The Takeaway to discuss her novel.

This segment is hosted by Todd Zwillich.
