Amitava Kumar discusses his new book, Immigrant, Montana: A Novel. The book tells the story of Kailash, a student from India studying at NYU. His immigrant experience includes navigating political and social dynamics on campus, falling in love, and trying to assimilate into American life. The novel melds narrative, reporting, anecdotes, and annotation to explore the nuances of cultural understanding.

On July 31, Amitava Kumar will in-conversation with Jennifer Egan followed by a Q&A, signing, and wine reception at 7:30 pm at Greenlight Bookstore (686 Fulton St., Brooklyn, NY 11217).
