How one New Jersey school district beat the odds against COVID learning loss

School districts across our region and the country continue to look for strategies to address learning loss from the COVID-19 pandemic.

But Union City School District, home to some of New Jersey's lowest-income students, is meeting academic goals without a lot of state assistance.

Silvia Abbato, superintendent of Union City District schools, and Mary Ann Koruth, staff writer for The Bergen Record covering education, joined WNYC Morning Edition host Michael Hill to discuss how the district has worked to prevent learning loss.
