A New Exhibition Reexamines The Meaning Of "Native New York"

When non-Indigenous children are taught about the history of Native American people, it's often just that — history, with little acknowledgement of their existence beyond the colonial era.

But a new exhibition at the National Museum of the American Indian in Manhattan called "Native New York" aims to change that narrative by shining a light on tribes with roots in the state.
