A New Book All About the Clothing Industry: 'Worn: A People's History of Clothing'

All Of It with Alison Stewart | Mar 8, 2022

A new book explores the social history of one of our most essential goods: clothing. In Worn: A People's History of Clothing, author Sofi Thanhauser looks at the story of clothing through five essential textiles: linen, cotton, silk, synthetics, and wool. Thanhauser uses this approach to investigate what clothing says about us, our world, and even our ethics. She joins us to discuss the book, how the clothing industry became what it is today, and what people are doing to break away from what has become one of the biggest polluting industries in history.
