Moving Forward From the Sandy Hook Elementary School Tragedy

The Leonard Lopate Show | Oct 2, 2015

Kaitlin Roig-Debellis was a first grade teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary School during the December 14, 2012 shootings. She and her fifteen young students were able to survive by hiding in a single-occupancy bathroom. In Choosing Hope: Moving Forward from Life's Darkest Hours, she describes that while she was lucky to have physically survived that trauma, moving forward in its aftermath has proved to be much more challenging.
