Meet Mishy Harman, Israel's Ira Glass
When Mishy Harman, Yochai Maital, Ro’ee Gilron, and Shai Satran created the Hebew-language podcast "Sipur Israeli". It was inspired by "This American Life," the public-radio show two of them had grown to love while living in the United States. "Sipur Israeli" was really only intended for entertaining family and friends, and it did just that…for a while. Then it was picked up by Israel’s leading national radio station, and offered a prime time slot.
Now they're finishing their first season in English called "Israel Story", a mini-series on Vox Tablet. Every episode has a theme and several stories, which relate to that theme—sound familiar? Host Mishy Harman and Senior Producer Yochai Maital discuss the growing success of the show.
The "Israel Story" team are also in New York for three performances of “Herzl 48,” their new multimedia show that brings stories to life through live collage animation, film, music, and radio storytelling.
