Mary Chapin Carpenter (Soundcheck Podcast, Archives, 2018)

Mary Chapin Carpenter has had a notable career – multiple Grammy awards, platinum albums and a spot in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.  But later this month, the new album, “Looking For The Thread”, with two of Scotland’s leading folk singers, Julie Fowlis and Karine Polwart is due.  Conceived in the remote west of Scotland and recorded in Spring 2024 at the renowned Real World Studios, it]]the record includes a couple of traditional songs in Scots Gaelic as well as some of Carpenter’s evocative original songs. Her new album is out on the 24th, but we've got Mary Chapin Carpenter, doing "Heroes and Heroines" live, from a 2018 session in our studio, celebrating her 30th anniversary in music as today’s Soundcheck podcast.
