Mandala Lab Opens At The Rubin Museum

WNYC News | Oct 1, 2021

Tibetan Buddhism suggests that you can find a path to wisdom through the body, through our senses. The Rubin Museum of Art puts this theory to the test in an unexpected way in its new Mandala Lab.  Using sight, sound, smell, and even something as basic as breathing, the Lab offers an interactive experience that might help you turn troublesome emotions and attachments into something like wisdom.

WNYC’s John Schaefer walked through the Lab with Tim McHenry of the Rubin Museum and composer Bora Yoon, who contributed one of the eight gongs that feature in the installation.
