Luna Kaufman and the Liberation Monument

Host Jenny Dixon talks with Luna Kaufman about Liberation, Nathan Rapoport's memorial to the Holocaust, was cast in 1984 and dedicated in Liberty State Park on May 30, 1985. The oversized bronze figural group depicts an American soldier carrying World War II Jewish concentration camp survivor. Although created in 1984, its style is reminiscent of the slightly stylized artwork of the 1930s and 1940s.
