Lip Talk is the name that Brooklyn singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Sarah Pedinotti uses for her music projects. After working with other bands, including indie rockers Okkervil River and avant-pop band Cuddle Magic, Pedinotti began making her own songs in an often lush art-pop style. Her vocals and her finely layered, often surprising productions may occasionally recall the sound of Kate Bush, the resurgent British art-rocker of the 80s and 90s; but Lip Talk also has an edge and an intimacy that’s all her own. Lip Talk plays Wed., Aug 17, as part of a Wednesday night August residency at The Sultan Room in Brooklyn.
