Trumpeter Keyon Harrold has worked with rappers like Common and Nas, and rockers like Keith Richards, but what really cemented his sterling reputation was when he played Miles Davis’s trumpet parts in the Don Cheadle film Miles Ahead in 2015. These days, Harrold is also a producer and a bandleader, whose ensembles tend to reflect his wide-ranging tastes. His latest release is Foreverland and it brings him to Blue Note, Jan. 22-24.
