The New York composer Julia Wolfe was once a barbarian at the gate – back in the 1980s she was one of the co-founders of the new music organization called Bang On A Can, which made noisy, eclectic, and sometimes electric music. Now, Wolfe is a Pulitzer Prize winner. She won the award in 2015 for her work, "Anthracite Fields," a grand portrayal of Pennsylvania’s disappearing mining communities. Julia Wolfe's piece will be played Saturday night, Dec. 1, by the Bang on a Can All-Stars and The Choir of Trinity Wall Street, with visual and projection design by Jeff Sugg, at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall.
