Jonathan's Pick of the Week: Ramsey Lewis and John Pizzarelli

Straighten Up & Fly Right @ Whitman Hall

Three-time Grammy Award-winning pianist Ramsey Lewis and singer/guitarist John Pizzarelli have much in common. Both jazz musicians have also served as radio personalities, sharing the music they love with the world. Both also share a deep admiration for Nat "King" Cole. Lewis, now 80, has admired the skill of Cole since his teens. Pizzarelli 25 years younger, disovered Cole's music in his 20s and in 1994 recorded Dear Mr. Cole, a collection of Nat “King” Cole classics. Lewis and Pizzarelli have been performing Straighten Up & Fly Right: The Nat King Cole Tribute since 2013 and hope to continue well into the future. See them this weekend on Sunday, May 1st at Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts - Whitman Hall at 3:00 PM
