The Leonard Lopate Show | Nov 14, 2016

Musician, singer and songwriter Johnny Marr joins us to talk about his memoir, Set the Boy Free. The legendary guitarist and co-founder of The Smiths details his life in music, from his childhood growing up in a working-class Manchester neighborhood, to co-founding The Smiths with Morrissey in 1982, to leaving the group in 1987, to his long and varied solo career and collaboration with artists such as The Talking Heads, The Cribs and Modest Mouse.

Johnny Marr's event at the Gramercy Theater on November 15th is sold out, but you can purchase a signed copy of his book at Strand Books.
