Canadian singer, pianist, and composer Jeremy Dutcher was trained in Western classical music, but grew up inspired by the sounds, traditions, and language of his own First Nations people in Eastern Canada. Singing in both English and the endangered Wolastoq language, Dutcher uses music to explore his own identity as a queer, Indigenous artist and the larger issues of cultural memory and transmission. Jeremy Dutcher plays a free show on Wed., March 20, at Lincoln Center’s David Rubinstein Atrium.
