The Ivalas String Quartet Performs Angélica Negrón at David Rubenstein Atrium
Nov. 21. 7:30PM. FREE

Puerto Rican-born composer and multi-instrumentalist Angélica Negrón is based in Brooklyn; she also leads the indie pop band Balún. Not surprisingly, her classical compositions reflect her experience in pop music, and she often draws on Caribbean rhythms and explores the interactions of acoustic and electronic sounds. So an Angélica Negrón string quartet work is likely to sound quite different from what you might expect – like her piece “Marejada” (played here by Kronos Quartet.) The Ivalas String Quartet plays a free program of music by Angélica Negrón on Nov. 21 at Lincoln Center’s Rubinstein Atrium.
