Interview with Pat Carbine: Co-founder of Ms. Magazine

Eleanor Fischer interviews Patricia Carbine, the co-founder of Ms. Magazine. In part one of the interview Fischer and Carbine discuss Carbine's career as a journalist, including her time at Look Magazine and McCall's. Carbine discusses her opinions about Cosmopolitan Magazine and how it differs from Ms. At the time of the interview, the first issue of Ms. had not yet been released. They had released a preview issue a few months before the interview. Carbine talks to Fischer about advertisers and their place at Ms. Part One of the interview finishes with discussing the name of the magazine and what it means.

In the second part of the interview, Fischer and Carbine discuss "Ms." as a title for women. Fischer asks how using "Ms." instead of "Mrs." or "Miss" will change anything for women regarding discrimination and function in society. Carbine thinks that it is a start. They finish up the interview by touching on the goals of the magazine and what to expect.
