Guitarist Jorma Kaukonen and bassist Jack Casady will always be known as members of the 1960's band Jefferson Airplane. But in fact, the two of them have spent way more time in their other band, Hot Tuna. Playing a collection of works old and new, many of them inspired by traditional American blues, Hot Tuna has been going since 1970. Over the years there’s been a large and rotating cast of characters, including most of the members of Jefferson Airplane, but you can always count Casady and Kaukonen to be there. Hot Tuna plays tonight at the Beacon Theatre.
