Heroes of the Brest Fortress

This drama, produced by Radio Moscow, tells the story of a month-long siege at Brest Fortress during World War II. On June 22nd, 1941, the Nazi Wehrmacht began invading territory designated to the Soviet Union in the 1939 German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact. The attack at Brest Fortress was one of the first battles.

In 1965 Brest Fortress received the honorary title of "Hero Fortress."
