Grove Street Stompers at Arthur's Tavern
Mondays. 7-10PM.
When you think of Dixieland jazz, New York may not be the first place that comes to mind. But here in New York, the Grove Street Stompers have been playing the oldest of old-school jazz every Monday night since 1962 at Arthur’s Tavern. Of course, that streak was broken during the pandemic, but now they’re back. The last of the original members, founder and pianist Bill Dunham, passed away in 2016, but the current incarnation of the Stompers is still swinging, and still welcoming guests in many of their sets. The Grove Street Stompers play every Monday night at Arthur’s Tavern, on Grove Street in Greenwich Village, starting at 7PM.Â
