Celebrating 40 Years of the NYC Greenmarket

The Leonard Lopate Show | Aug 18, 2016

In honor of the Greenmarket’s 40th birthday this summer, we’ll be joined by veteran Hudson Valley farmers, Morse Pitts and Chip Kent, to talk about the history and future of the Greenmarket, and discuss how farmer's markets are working to preserve our region’s quickly disappearing farmland.

Event: On Friday, August 19th, from 4 pm to 9 pm, Grow NYC’s Union Square Greenmarket will host the last Summer Friday for the 2016 summer season. The theme for the evening will be Asian street food made with Greenmarket ingredients. Free and open to the public with dishes and alcohol for purchase. More info here.
