Grandbrothers – "Infinite" (Weekly Music Roundup)
The German-Swiss duo Grandbrothers uses any and all parts of the piano as a sound source, as one plays the piano in a repeating, Minimalist style and the other processes the piano’s sound, in real time, to create what sounds like electronic dance music. Last year, Grandbrothers was invited to perform in Cologne Cathedral, and recorded their upcoming album there. It’s called Late Reflections, because in addition to the piano and its almost instantly processed sounds, the 700-year old cathedral contributes a haze of sonic echoes as well. "Infinite", is the new single from Grandbrothers from their forthcoming album Late Reflections and it’s part of our weekly music roundup.
