New Governor, New Relationship With New York City Mayor?

The feud between Mayor Bill de Blasio and (former) Governor Andrew Cuomo has become the stuff of legend — and led to complaints that it prevented the two rivals from getting more done for New Yorkers.

But Governor Kathy Hochul now has an incentive to reset the relationship between herself, the new governor, and Eric Adams, the heavy favorite to become the city's next mayor in November. And according to Democratic strategist Neal Kwatra, "you can have a once-in-a-generation opportunity for real collaboration, and not political point scoring and gotcha gamesmanship."
