The MATA Festival, held annually here in NYC, highlights promising young composers from around the world. It’s taking place this week, at the Chelsea venue The Kitchen. Tonight’s program features the Spanish pianist and composer Rubens Askenar Garcia Hernandez. He’ll be performing his dark, sometimes unsettling piece "El Puerperio."
