Mister Heavenly is a band that used to include the actor Michael Cera on bass, and still features Nick Thorburn, who plays in several other bands but is probably best known as the guy who wrote the theme music for the groundbreaking true crime podcast Serial. Mister Heavenly is a pop band thinly disguised as an indie rock band – they make likable, sturdy pop with crunchy guitars and stomping drums. And they’re not above naming one of their songs after themselves. Mister Heavenly plays tonight at Le Poisson Rouge.
