In the early 1990s, groups like Portishead and Massive Attack created dark, brooding atmospheres that reflected the hangover side of party music. Electronic dance music has evolved a great deal over the last twenty years, but its more down-tempo descendants still have that potent ability to evoke a bleary-eyed dawn. And it’s a sound that this band, Hælos, has perfected.
