For decades, cello player and composer Erik Friedlander has been making experimental, occasionally driving instrumental music that reflects New York in its many moods. But for a recent film project, he was asked to score images of the melting Greenland ice caps. Friedlander recruited noted percussionist Satoshi Takeishi and multi-instrumentalist Shoko Nagai. The result is mesmerizing.
