The band Elizabeth and the Catapult is built around the voice and the composing skills of Elizabeth Ziman. She’s classically trained but writes mostly in an idiosyncratic type of pop. A few years ago, she wrote a collection of songs commissioned by WNYC and inspired by the poetry of Leonard Cohen. Elizabeth and The Catapult recorded them under the title the Other Side of Zero; and this is one of those songs. Elizabeth and the Catapult are performing tonight at Le Poisson Rouge.
