Gig Alert: Earth with Marc Ribot & Holy Sons

Music Hub | Aug 26, 2015

ARTIST: Earth, Marc RibotHoly Sons

GIG: Wednesday night at Le Poisson Rouge

From doom-metal to smokey country to psychedelic rock - you could say Earth has been through a few phases. Out of context, that could apply to our home planet or Dylan Carlson’s band. In this case - it’s the band. Earth grew out of the Seattle grunge scene in the ‘90s, pioneering drone-doom which sounds kind of like crawling through a desert at the height of heat-induced hallucinations. Opening for Earth is Marc Ribot, who will be playing the live score to a 2005 short film Shadow Choose Their Horrors, as well as Holy Sons, who are celebrating their new record, Fall of Man. Prepare yourself for a darker show tonight at Le Poisson Rouge.
