George Washington Meets the Smart Phone

WNYC News | Dec 24, 2021

New Jersey has very little tourism related to its historic sites from the American Revolution, but a non-profit group in the state is trying to change that. Crossroads of the American Revolution has produced an audio tour that takes visitors on a 90-minute drive tracing the route taken by George Washington and his band of patriots.

The tour, Ten Crucial Days, begins with Washington on the run from the British and prospects are looking bleak. But a surprise crossing of the Delaware River on Christmas Day in 1776 results in a series of victorious battles that turns the tide.

"Frankly, this is one of the biggest stories in American history, let alone the revolutionary war," said Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Poll and a member of the board of directors for Crossroads of the American Revolution.
