#3716: GABI and 'Sympathy'

New Sounds | Apr 21, 2015

John Schaefer sits down with experimental composer and singer Gabrielle Herbst aka GABI to discuss her striking music. Enter an immersive vocal world as we listen to some songs from her just released album Sympathy. GABI’s solo singing loops, hockets, and layers on top of each other, and also interacts with a band of violin, viola, electric guitar/trombone, and percussion. This featured suite on New Sounds tonight will journey through some ethereal, stirring, hymnal, and exhilarating songs. Also, a new track from Rachel Grimes’ titled “Transverse Plane Horizontal.”
