Femi Kuti – "As We Struggle Everyday" (Weekly Music Roundup)

Nigerian bandleader Femi Kuti is the son of the legendary Fela Kuti, who was the subject of the hit Broadway musical Fela! Since his father’s death in 1997, Femi Kuti has carried on the legacy of Afrobeat, a funky blend of trancey rhythms, high-octane horns, and politically charged lyrics. Femi has just released a double album where the second half of the record sees him passing the torch to his own son, Made Kuti. But this song is from Femi’s half of the album; it’s called “As We Struggle Everyday.” The song and its video are both part of our Weekly Music Roundup.
