Faulty AC units on NYC’s 1 train put riders on fast track to hell

The 1 train might be a local — but it’s often an express ride to a sweaty commute on hot summer days.  Gothamist brought a thermometer onto a train car with a broken air conditioner this week and recorded a temperature of 95 degrees.
