A Mother Who Convinced Her Daughter She Was Sick

Director and producer Erin Lee Carr joins us to discuss her new true-crime documentary, “Mommy Dead and Dearest." The HBO documentary tells the story of Dee Dee and Gypsy Rose Blanchard. Dee Dee spent her life taking care of Gypsy Rose, who was wheelchair-bound and sick. But as Gypsy Rose got older and realized there was nothing wrong with her, a series of events unfolded that ended with Dee Dee's murder.

“Mommy Dead and Dearest” premieres May 15 at 10 p.m. on HBO. The film will also be available on HBO On Demand, HBO NOW, HBO GO and affiliated portals.
