The annual Winter Jazzfest is once again taking over clubs and other venues around New York this week, and several of the hottest tickets are for acts coming in from London. The British jazz scene is flourishing with bands like this one, called Ezra Collective. It’s a scene where the musicians are comfortable bringing elements of hip hop, Caribbean music, punk and electronic music into the mix.
London’s Ezra Collective plays Wed., Jan. 9, at Le Poisson Rouge. They’ll also play a short set in our studio Thursday afternoon(!), Jan. 10, at 2 pm. Details to come on that.
