Etienne Charles at 92NY Kaufmann Concert Hall

Etienne Charles and Creole Soul at 92NY Kaufmann Concert Hall
July 24. 7:30PM. $25+up

Trumpet player, percussionist, and composer Etienne Charles makes music in a style you might call Creole soul – in fact his concert tonight is booked as Etienne Charles and Creole Soul. Charles is from Trinidad, and the sounds of the Caribbean blend easily with his love of American, and especially New Orleans jazz. He’s been drawn to projects that highlight marginalized communities, including the people displaced from the San Juan Hill neighborhood to make way for Lincoln Center.  Etienne Charles and Creole Soul play on July 24 at 92NY’s Kaufman Concert Hall.
