Ethics in Politics

This episode is from the WNYC archives. It may contain language which is no longer politically or socially appropriate.

Tammany leader Carmine DeSapio defends the Tammany organization. No longer the organization of Tweed and Crocker. Notes that The People choose politician.

New York State Attorney General Jacob Javits says if you listen to DeSapio "you'd think the Tammany tiger had become a pussycat." Runs down all of the false things DeSapio made claims to. Tammany is, according to Javits, nearly as corrupt as before. Javits goes on about a code of ethics for politicians. Appears that this disc was cut from a tape.
