New York Times correspondent Eric Pace speaks about his 1979 thriller, Nightingale, which centers around a mercenary plot to steal the Iranian crown jewels with an escape via the ancient city of Persepolis. Host Walter James Miller remarks that the novel's appearance is timely, given the revolution taking place in Iran. Pace says his travels through the region and encounters with unusual people there inspired many of the settings and characters in the novel.
