Derrick Hodge & The Color Of Noize at Blue Note
June 3-5. 8PM and 10:30PM. $29.33-$40.66

As a bass player, Derrick Hodge might be best known as a member of pianist Robert Glasper’s genre-busting ensemble. As a composer himself, Hodge often mixes jazz with R&B, hip hop, and other less easily identified and perhaps more cosmic sounds. His group called Color Of Noize is centered on guitar, bass and drums, but this week’s series of shows at the Blue Note will feature strings as well. Derrick Hodge and his band, also called the Color of Noize, play at The Blue Note June 3-5.
