Playwright and performer Daniel Alexander Jones joins us to discuss his new performance, “Black Light,” now playing at The Greenwich House Theater. Drawing influence from Prince, Sade, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, as well as the Black American Freedom movement, and Afromysticism, Jones embodies Jomama Jones, his alter-ego. This limited engagement runs through December 31.

 

Academy Award-winning documentary film director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy joins us to discuss her new documentary "Student Athlete," which premieres on HBO on October 2. The film focuses on the lives of amateur athletes and the billion dollar industry they help to support. LeBron James is the film's executive producer.
