Correspondence Courses

The NYPR Archive Collections | Jan 1, 2000

On Straight Facts for Veterans, host Ken Joseph speaks with Bob Hewitt, of the Veterans Administration office in New York City, about how veterans can use education credits in correspondence courses through the G.I. Bill. Veterans are given one year of education plus one year for every year of service. However, a year of correspondence courses counts as one-fourth a calendar year.

The program begins with a few short news items on registering for college, temporary education certificates and veteran preference in the Federal Housing and Rent Act of 1947.
