What Data Teaches Us About 'The Resistance'

It’s been just over one year since millions of women and men all over the world took to the streets for the Women’s March, protesting newly-inaugurated President Trump, and marching for civil rights.  A year later, women and men around the world came out Saturday once again in a show of solidarity.

Professor Dana Fisher surveyed nearly 1,500 participants at the original Women's March and at other major demonstrations over the last year.

Her findings show meaningful increases in civic engagement over the course of 2017 — with more people contacting elected officials, attending town halls, and getting involved in other ways beyond just voting.
