Midday on WNYC | Jun 1, 2018

New York Times columnist and science writer Carl Zimmer discusses his new book She Has Her Mother’s Laugh: The Powers, Perversions, and Potential of Heredity. Zimmer argues that we need a broader definition of heredity and uses anecdotes from his own life and recent scientific research to unpack bioethical quandaries arising from new biomedical technologies as well as long-standing assumptions about heredity.

This segment is guest hosted by Jonathan Capehart.
