Can Badminton Be A Smash Hit In Schools?

Earlier this year, badminton became a varsity sport in New York City schools. Now, the first boys’ fall badminton season is underway, with twelve high schools fielding teams. And perhaps no school has embraced the sport with as much gusto as Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School, on the border of Borough Park and Bensonhurst.

At FDR, Badminton has long been taught in gym class, and many students come from counties like China and Bangladesh, where the sport is popular.
