Braxton Cook at The Blue Note
March 7. $25. 21+. 8PM and 10:30PM

Braxton Cook first made a name for himself as a teenager gigging on the Washington DC jazz scene, before moving to New York and playing sax with Jon Batiste, Christian McBride and others. But all the time there was another side of Braxton Cook: the smooth R&B crooner. His solo albums feature a lot more singing and a lot less sax, but he’s still a welcome figure at Jazz festivals and clubs, like The Blue Note, where he plays two sets on Monday, March 7.
