On Tuesday, one of the worst chemical bombings occurred in Syria as dozens of people, including many children died from chemical bombs, and Thursday, the U.S. issued an airstrike on Syria. For this week’s Bonus Weekend Podcast, we wanted to look back at how we got here, so we’re revisiting three conversations we had about the horrific conflict in Syria. In 2012, Leonard spoke with Donatella Rovera, senior adviser on crisis response for Amnesty International, about her experiences visiting several towns in Syria. In 2014 Reese Erlich discussed his reporting on the Syrian Civil War. And in 2015 Leonard spoke with Frontline correspondent Martin Smith, who covered the government-controlled areas of Syria as the war escalated.
