Bobby Rush spent half a century on the so-called Chitlin’ Circuit – the loose network of mostly Black-owned clubs, juke joints and dance halls that were traditionally hospitable to Black performers when other places weren’t. There he honed his high-intensity live act, working up a sweat that would make James Brown proud. Now a Grammy winner and Blues Hall of Famer, Bobby Rush is 88 but he’s still not slowing down.  Bobby Rush plays two sets on Monday, Jan. 17, at The Blue Note.
