It’s been a year of the Trump presidency, and all this week The Takeaway will be looking at the tangible effects of that first year in office, and how it’s affected people's lives — from immigration, to the courts, to the environment, and more.
First up is the economy. President Trump has repeatedly claimed that the GOP tax cuts and the success of the stock market are indicators that the U.S. is doing better than ever under his lead.
Stock Market had another good day but, now that the Tax Cut Bill has passed, we have tremendous upward potential. Dow just short of 25,000, a number that few thought would be possible this soon into my administration. Also, unemployment went down to 4.1%. Only getting better!

To get the facts of where President Trump has actually affected the economy, and most importantly, the lives of everyday Americans, The Takeaway speaks with Annie Lowrey, economic policy writer for The Atlantic.
