Armenta Adams Hummings was founder of the Gateways Music Festival. She grew up a pianist, graduated from the Juilliard School of Music, performed at Avery Fisher Hall and Alice Tully Hall, and was honored at a reception at the State Department for her contributions to international relations through her concert performances around the world.
